The EU Beating Cancer Plan highlights the importance of expanding access to cancer prevention, vaccination and screening, particularly for underserved and vulnerable populations.
The PACE project contributes to this objective by working to improve access to HPV and hepatitis-related cancer prevention services in prison settings across Europe. Through collaboration with public health institutions, policy makers, prison authorities, community based organizations and people with lived experience, PACE aims to:
▶Identify gaps in vaccination and screening programmes
▶Adapt good practices to national contexts
▶Support the implementation of sustainable prevention approaches.
By addressing inequalities in access to preventive services, PACE contributes to the broader European effort to reduce preventable cancers and promote health equity.
